Kelley Burrus Event Group

I just finished + delivered these business cards yesterday. I'm so happy with the way they turned out! I wish I could pin up an actual one here, my little point-and-shoot doesn't do them justice...

I was in charge of the apple pie for Thanksgiving. Admittedly, they are one of my favorite things to make. I love putting together my own crust using the same recipe my great great grandmother did. Not many people make pie crust anymore, which is weird to me since it is so easy...

Hook & Matter

Recently, I printed some new jewelry tags for my craftiest client Hook & Matter. They just underwent a name change (Knock Knock Studio to Hook & Matter), which called for a new logo. Personally, I think they nailed it!

Halloween

I must admit that Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday. I'm not sure why that is, but as unpopular as it may be: I'm glad it is over. Here is my belated Halloween post (thank you Domy)... Moving on to Thanksgiving + pie. Yes!

Grown Up Shoes - Take 2

Remember those business cards I printed a while ago? Well, it turns out that Ana is pretty awesome and I decided to start being a sponsor of her blog. That lead to this interview. If you are curious about me, check it out. If not, check the blog out anyway, you won't be sorry.

Enchanted

This past weekend was so beautiful. In honor of the reasonable temperatures, I spent the day letting my mind wander on the top of Enchanted Rock. The best part: I forgot my phone in the car! Wish I could disconnect more often...

The Interview

So a few weeks ago, Karen Wang, a talented photo journalism senior at UT, got in touch with me about doing a character video for her video journalism class. I thought not only did it sound fun, but it would also be an opportunity for me to step outside my comfort zone (something I've been working on lately). Anyway, I am really excited about the final result and so happy to have met Karen. Continuing along the out-of-my-comfort-zone vein, I am posting it here for all to see! *deep breath* :)

Counting

I've been doing a big push lately to count all of my products and have everything readily assembled. I had NO idea what an undertaking this would be! I vow to never get behind again... Too much work.

I am very excited to tell you that my cards can now be found in a real brick and mortar shop! Flock Gifts, a great new store featuring Austin artists, opened up on South Lamar and has decided to include me among their vendors. They are having an official grand opening party tomorrow (Thursday) night from 6-10pm. Check it out!

Oh Texas, please stop being so hot. Above image from a wedding invitation I printed earlier this week. Rich dark teal + gold ink. Nice, unexpected combo. Designer: Dale Wallain.

Most of the new cards have been uploaded to the shop. Stop by and take a look! I thought the popsicles would be appropriate for today since it will be 105. Time to migrate to Canada.

Uhhhhhgggg!

I am so frustrated with Blogger right now. I don't know why I started messing with the layout of this blog. Now it looks worse and I am too tiered to try and fix it :P

P.S. Thank you Chelsea for the cute picture above.

And I'm Back

Well, I survived my first National Stationery Show and am happy to say I might be back next year! I would have never made it without my fantastic booth-mates: Cleanwash, Anemone, Paper Lovely, Heartfish, Thomas-Printers, Lullabelle, Painted Tongue, Dandy Lion, Ink Petals, and Wild Horse. Please check out all of their work...very talented ladies.

Also a big Thank You to Grace at Design*Sponge & Nole Oh So Beautiful Paper for stopping by the booth + including us in your coverage of the show!

An Apple a Day

This particular apple variety is "Lady Alice." Admittedly I originally bought it for the name, but now it is my favorite apple. Small, crispy enough, sweet and on sale for 99¢ a pound! Seems like the only pictures I have time to take are quick snapshots in between cranks of the press. Someday, maybe I will get to show actual finished work. Oh well, apples and envelopes for now...

Forest + Plum

This week is SXSW in Austin, TX. My neighbors across the street set up a stage in their backyard. I had multiple bands serenading me while I printed these beauties. Designed by Paul Fucik the owner of Arts & Recreation.

Wallpaper

Lots and lots of printing lately. I'm becoming surprisingly interested in one color prints. I used to think it was boring to use just one color, but actually it adds a nice simplicity. Kind of stylish really...

DeRouen & Co.

I love printing overlapping inks. I can't remember the last time I had the opportunity. These cards use turquoise and silver ink, a very clean and sophisticated combo (in my opinion). Check out the accomplished designer of these cards here!
